James is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Director of the Centre for Intelligent Perioperative Care at University College London Hospitals. His work includes developing AI tools for point-of-care ultrasound, securing regulatory approval for these devices in Europe and the USA, and developing international standards/policy in anaesthesia and AI (endorsed by anaesthesia and regional anaesthesia organisations globally).

He also works at GE HealthCare, developing AI-based devices for point-of-care ultrasound in anaesthesia, critical care, and emergency medicine.
