AfPP Annual Congress, 9th - 12th October 2006, Harrogate International Centre
The Association for Perioperative Practice’s (AfPP) annual Congress & Exhibition took place between the 9th and 12th October 2006 at the Harrogate International Centre in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. It is the largest conference in the perioperative calendar and one which appeals to anyone working in or around clinically invasive procedures.
AfPP welcomed the Preoperative Association who held their own conference on Thursday 12th within the same venue. This joint venture recognised the importance of bringing together these two organisations in discussing ways of improving perioperative patient care, and both associations hope that this will be the beginning of a long term collaboration.
The programme for the AfPP Congress had a wide range of speakers including Clare Bertschinger – the nurse who inspired Live Aid, Chris Beasley – England’s Chief Nursing Officer and Jackie Younger, National Practitioner Project Leader for the NHS.
